Discounts

UMS offers a number of popular discounted ticket programs:

Ticket Policies, Exchanges, and Refunds

Your ticket is a revocable license. Tickets may not be purchased for the primary purpose of resale and may be canceled at the complete and sole discretion of UMS.

Unauthorized Ticketing Agents

UMS assumes no liability for tickets purchased through unauthorized sales channels, including thehillauditorium.com, Craigslist, eBay, StubHub, and other secondary market or ticket broker services. We strongly advise against purchasing tickets from any source other than the UMS Ticket Office or ums.org.

Tickets purchased from unauthorized sources may be stolen, counterfeit, or otherwise compromised, and if so, are not valid for event admission. If you are unsure whether a ticket seller has been authorized to sell UMS tickets, please contact the Ticket Office at 734.764.2538 prior to purchasing from that source.

Learn why you should avoid ticket resellers in the unauthorized secondary market

Tickets may not be purchased for the primary purpose of resale and may be canceled at the complete and sole discretion of UMS. UMS reserves the right to monitor sales and withhold season ticket renewal opportunities or cancel ticket orders from accounts that exhibit activity consistent with that of a ticket broker.

Ticket brokers are defined as ticket holders who purchase tickets with the primary intent of reselling their tickets for profit or whose accounts indicate high levels of secondary market activity. Furthermore, ticket holders attempting to circumvent established ticket limits by creating numerous accounts or any other method may have their tickets canceled at the complete and sole discretion of UMS. UMS also reserves the right to change the ticket delivery method to will-call and to require presentation of both photo ID and the credit card used to purchase the ticket(s).

Ticket Exchange Policies

Tickets may be exchanged for another UMS performance within the same season, or the value can be held as a credit on your UMS account for the remainder of the season. There is a $10 exchange fee per ticket.

Tickets must be exchanged for UMS Credit at least one hour prior to the performance. All UMS Credit balances will expire at the end of the UMS season and may not be applied to future seasons.

Subscribers can return tickets with no fee for UMS Credit up to 48 hours before a performance. Within 48 hours, subscribers are subject to the $10 exchange fee per ticket.

Ticket Fees

Season Ticket packages are subject to a $15 fee per order (not per ticket). Season ticketholders enjoy access to the best seats and the best prices for all performances, as well as installment billing and additional benefits. Learn more about UMS season ticket packages.

For individual event tickets, fees of $4.00-$8.00 per ticket apply to all internet and phone orders:

  • $4 for tickets $29 & less
  • $6 for tickets $30-$59
  • $7 for tickets $60-$99
  • $8 for tickets $100+

There are no fees for single tickets purchased at the League Ticket Office or at the venue immediately before the performance. Venue ticket offices open 60-90 minutes before each performance. Fees are not refundable.

Refund Policy

There are no refunds. Programs and artists are subject to change; if an artist cancels an appearance, UMS makes every effort to substitute that performance with a comparable artist. Refunds will only be offered if a substitute cannot be found. Fees are not refundable. UMS will not cancel performances because of inclement weather.

Ticket Donations and Unused Tickets

Tickets may be donated to UMS until the published start time of the concert, with a receipt issued for tax purposes.

Unused tickets that are returned after the performance begins are not eligible for either UMS Credit or a donation.

Frequently Asked Questions

I lost my tickets. Can I get new ones?
Please call the Ticket Office at 734-764-2538 to have duplicate tickets sent electronically or held at will-call. Duplicate tickets cannot be mailed.
If I arrive late, can I still get in?
Late seating is not guaranteed and varies by performance depending on the artist and production. Those arriving late may, when possible, be accommodated with seats in alternate locations to avoid disturbing other patrons. UMS works with the artists to determine when late seating will be the least disruptive to both the artists and other ticket buyers.

Please leave ample time for parking and arrival. Traffic calming and congestion near our performance venues are unpredictable yet unavoidable, and it’s best to expect delays and allow more time than you think you’ll need.

My babysitter canceled — can I bring my kids?
While UMS offers specially priced Kids Tickets for children in grades 3-12, children under the age of 3 will not be admitted to regular, full-length UMS performances. All children, regardless of age, must be able to sit quietly in their own seats throughout the performance. Children unable to do so, along with the adult(s) accompanying them, may be asked to leave the auditorium.

Please use discretion when choosing to bring a child to a UMS performance. While we want to encourage an appreciation for the live performance experience among young people, not every performance is suitable for children, and we encourage you to consider the impact that bringing a child may have on those sitting nearby.

Remember, everyone must have a ticket regardless of age. Age recommendations for performances are posted on event detail pages.
