Founded in New York City in 2008, yMusic uses its unique configuration (string trio, flute, clarinet, and trumpet) to “playfully overstep the boundaries of musical genres.” (New Yorker) This concert is a celebration of young composers, featuring works by luminaries such as Caroline Shaw, Michigan natives Andrew Norman and Shara Nova (aka My Brightest Diamond), Missy Mazzoli, and Gabriella Smith.
