Violinist Pinchas Zukerman and cellist Amanda Forsyth join the Jerusalem Quartet for a special concert featuring works for string sextet.

Schoenberg’s Verklärte Nacht was one of his earliest compositions, a keenly romantic work written in a burst of inspiration over three weeks in the summer of 1899, when he met the woman who would become his wife. Tchaikovsky’s Souvenir de Florence was his final chamber music work, a nod to his time in Italy, where he began the work. “As near to perfect as one can possibly find.” (BBC Music Magazine)

PROGRAM

R. Strauss String Sextet from Capriccio, Op. 85
Schoenberg Verklärte Nacht (Transfigured Night), Op. 4
Tchaikovsky Souvenir de Florence, Op. 70
