UMS 21st Century Artist Internships: Connecting students and artists in professional learning experiences

By UMS Lobby

Each year, UMS and the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance select four students for a paid summer internship with a professional dance, theater, or music ensemble that UMS will present during its upcoming season. Students receive a competitive stipend and gain real-world behind-the-scenes experience working with innovative artists from around the globe. When students return to campus, they work with UMS to help host the artists and company during their visit in Ann Arbor.

In this video, 21st Century Intern Johnny Mathews shares his experience with Urban Bush Women in New York City, which UMS presents in January, 2018.
