UMS 101: Imani Winds with the Catalyst Quartet

Public Workshop

Imani Winds and Catalyst Quartet are two groundbreaking chamber music ensembles leading the way in commissioning, performing, and recording music by BIPOC composers while re-imagining and re-defining the classical music experience. Learn about these extraordinary musicians and a new work that UMS commissioned for the woodwind quintet and string quartet to perform together by groundbreaking composer (and former Catalyst quartet violinist) Jessie Montgomery.

Join us January 27 for this 90-minute UMS 101 workshop that correlates with the January 29 performance of Imani Winds with the Catalyst Quartet. Deepen your experience and understanding in advance of the performance in a fun, casual learning environment, facilitated by Marion Hayden.

$49 registration includes the 90-minute workshop & light snacks, plus a ticket to the January 29, 2022 performance of Imani Winds with the Catalyst Quartet. (Please note, performance is on a different day/time/location than the workshop. Sorry, no ticket exchanges or refunds for previously purchased tickets.)

$15 workshop-only ticket also available

UMS 101 is presented in partnership with Ann Arbor Recreation & Education.
