This collaboration features composer and percussionist Andy Akiho, a trailblazing Pulitzer Prize finalist and five-time Grammy-nominated composer whose bold works unravel intricate and unexpected patterns while surpassing preconceived boundaries of Western classical music.

BeLoud, BeLoved, BeLonging is a moving work for wind quintet and steel drum inspired by the sounds and protests by immigrants at a Brooklyn detention center over unsanitary conditions and lack of heat. The unforgettable piece was originally workshopped with a group of incarcerated young men at Rikers Island.
