Great improvisers are known for their ability to adapt quickly, and creating your own individual style through improvisation is at the root of both jazz and skateboarding. Join celebrated jazz pianist and MacArthur Fellow Jason Moran and professional skateboarders Andy Macdonald, Ron Allen, Jordyn Barratt, and Natalie Krishna Das for a conversation that will center around the intersection of improvisation in music and in skateboarding as well as the overlap in both cultures. Co-moderated by Friends of the Ann Arbor Skatepark board president and local skate ambassador, Josh Meisler, and UMS senior programming manager, Mark Jacobson. Athletes will be available for signing following event.

This event is free and open to the public. The conversation begins at 2 pm.
