UMS is thrilled to collaborate with the Independent Film Festival Ypsilanti (iFFY) to present The Lodger: A Story of the London Fog, a 1927 British silent thriller about the hunt for a serial killer in London. Directed by Alfred Hitchcock and starring Ivor Novello in the title role, the film was based on the 1913 novel by Marie Belloc Lowndes, and established Hitchcock as a reputable director of the thriller genre. Michigan’s Little Bang Theory, a trio founded by Detroit avant-garde music legend Frank Pahl, accompanies the film with an original score, played on toys and children’s instruments, adding a fresh thrill to this thriller.
This is a Pay-What-You-Wish event.
Little Bang Theory is a trio, featuring musicians Frank Pahl, Terri Sarris, and Doug Shimmin, based in Detroit/Ann Arbor, Michigan. The brainchild of Pahl, Little Bang Theory’s brilliant musical explorations are performed entirely on children’s toys and hand-made instruments.
