School Day Performance for Grades 4-12:
Ballet BC
UMS is excited to present Vancouver’s Ballet BC for the first time on our School Day Performance series. Ballet BC has been a leader in the Canadian contemporary ballet scene for nearly 40 years. Join us for this UMS debut performance of Passing, choreographed by legendary Swedish dancemaker Johan Inger. Inspired by themes of climate change, this large scale work traverses the landscape of the human experience highlighting the beauty and fragility of the human condition in a world characterized by constant movement and change. This piece invites audiences to contemplate the fleeting nature of life and the profound impact of brief moments of connection with others.
Content warning: Dancers are fully clothed, wearing flesh-toned garments that create the illusion of nudity.
