“The American spirit soars whenever Taylor’s dancers dance.” (San Francisco Chronicle)
Paul Taylor helped shape and define American modern dance from the earliest days of his career as a choreographer in 1954 until his death in 2018. An alumnus of the Martha Graham company, he became a cultural icon and part of the pantheon that created American modern dance, with 147 different dances that covered an unprecedented range. These two performances featuring Taylor’s choreography are part of an international celebration of his legacy and vision for the future of modern dance.
