“Mesmerizing…he’s a marvel, produces sounds that are deeply anxious yet also exultant.” (New York Times) Born and raised in Ann Arbor, saxophonist Colin Stetson achieves the sonic range of a solo electronics artist through an entirely acoustic approach that combines circular breathing, overblowing, and vocalizations. In addition to his outings as one of the most daring yet accessible solo artists to come along in a while, the company he keeps puts him in a league of his own: Laurie Anderson, Bon Iver, Arcade Fire, David Byrne, LCD Soundsystem, and Feist, to name just a few. “A sound that could only come from one person on earth.” (Pitchfork) Multi-instrumentalist Justin Walter, also an Ann Arbor native, opens for Stetson.
