These 90-minute workshops, presented in partnership with Ann Arbor Public Schools Community Education & Recreation, focus on upcoming UMS performances and are ideal for individuals seeking to familiarize themselves with — or deepen their understanding of — the performing artist and genre.

Facilitated by professional, community-based practicing artists/educators, UMS 101 workshops offer background and contextual learning, live demonstrations, and participatory activities in a fun, casual environment.
