Cultural Liberty Workshop

Workshop description: The evolution of the Martha Graham Dance Company is constant and fluid. Peter Sparling has been close to the company as a former principal dancer and artistic advisor. In this workshop, Peter shares stories of working with the legendary Martha Graham and uses video and movement exercises to help participants understand (and feel!) the company’s unique brand of modern dance. Educators return to the classroom with a vocabulary to talk about movement and music, with an understanding of what to expect at the company’s School Day Performance, and with bursting excitement for the Martha Graham Dance Company.
